The Year I Read the Bible with Laurie Larsen
Have you ever read the Bible? Straight through without stopping? It takes effort and dedication. That's exactly what I did in the year 2023. But I didn't just read it. I jotted down things that confused me, intrigued me, made me want to learn more. And in 2024 I researched and wrote essays to share what I learned in blogs, videos and a book. And now ... a podcast! Take a listen -- I guarantee you'll learn some life-changing stuff from that dusty book on your shelf!

Hello friends. I'm Lori Larson and I'm doing a podcast called The Year I Read the Bible. Have you listened to it? Every Tuesday morning, I release a 30 minute episode complete with some godly Bible knowledge and insightful chat with a friend. A prayer and a little music. Sometimes I guarantee this short spurt of inspiration will put a smile on your face. I plan 40 episodes in total, and I'm already a quarter of the way through and I know God is supporting my efforts. How do I know? Because of comments I've heard from listeners. I can't tell you how many times someone says to me. How did you know your podcast topic addressed exactly what I'm going through in my life right now? It's even happened while selecting my guests. Listen to what my hilarious guest Jodi Stallings said when the essays I assigned him included something about the Apostle Stephen in the book of Acts.
Jody Stallings:Not that anyone will be interested by this, but apart from Jesus, Stephen is my favorite character in the New Testament, so I'm
Laurie:You are kidding.
Jody Stallings:there. No, I've always loved Stephen. It was always funny, like growing up with my kids. They were in this group called Ana and every year they would have dress up as your favorite Bible character. And I would always try to get my son, Hey, why don't you dress up with Steven? He's a good, and it's always funny'cause you go in and bible night and they're all the Bible characters look the same like everybody has on the same outfit. Like who are you? Oh, I'm
Laurie:They,
Jody Stallings:Well, he.
Laurie:they just pass the costumes around every year.
Jody Stallings:that's it. So that part is funny. But no, I've always loved, Steven
